    Eligibility Criteria for Canadian Experience Class

    To qualify for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), applicants must have skilled Canadian work experience, meet language proficiency requirements, and plan to live outside Quebec. This program is ideal for individuals already integrated into Canada’s workforce.

    1. Work Experience

    • • You must have at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada in the last three years before applying.
    • • This work experience must be:
      1. o In occupations classified as TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system.
      2. o Gained legally while working in Canada.
    • • Part-time work counts, but you must have completed the equivalent of one year (e.g., 1,560 hours).

    2. Language Proficiency

    • • Meet the minimum language requirements in English or French:
      1. o Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 for TEER 0 or 1 jobs.
      2. o CLB 5 for TEER 2 or 3 jobs.
    • • You must provide results from an approved language test, taken within the last two years.

    3. Residency and Status

      • You must have had temporary resident status (e.g., as a worker, student, or visitor) when gaining your Canadian work experience.

    4. Education (optional)

    While there is no educational requirement, having a Canadian credential or an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for foreign education can improve your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score under Express Entry.

    5. Intent to Reside Outside Quebec

    The program is for those intending to live outside Quebec, as Quebec has its own immigration programs.

    Ineligibility

    You may be ineligible for the CEC if:

    • • Your work experience was gained while you were a full-time student (e.g., co-op or internships).
    • • You are applying from outside Canada without recent Canadian work experience.
    • • Your work was unauthorized
